Job Overview

A law firm is seeking an experienced Energy / Mineral Title Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience serving energy clients, particularly in the Appalachian basin, including tasks such as drafting and reviewing mineral titles, performing due diligence, and managing general transactional work. Duties

  • Draft and review mineral title opinions.

  • Conduct due diligence on mineral titles.

  • Review title abstracts and related title materials.

  • Provide legal support for energy clients across the Appalachian basin.

  • Work on various transactional tasks related to energy law.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in mineral title work.

  • Experience working in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and/or Ohio is preferred.

  • Must be licensed to practice law in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, or Ohio.

  • Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and manage multiple projects.

  • Must pass a required background screening, including a criminal background check.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, or Ohio.

Skills

  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing mineral titles.

  • Strong knowledge of energy law and mineral rights.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
