Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Trust and Estates Associate Attorney with 4+ years of broad experience to support senior attorneys in all estate planning and administration aspects. The ideal candidate will have a strong trust and estate law background, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Job Location:

  • Roseland, NJ

Duties:

  • Assist senior attorneys in preparing and reviewing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
  • Manage the administration of estates and trusts, including probate proceedings, accounting preparation, and asset distribution.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex estate planning and administration issues.
  • Prepare and file tax returns for estates and trusts.
  • Represent clients in probate court and disputes related to estates and trusts.
  • Advise clients on strategies to minimize estate taxes and protect assets.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Collaborate with financial planners, accountants, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive estate planning for clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations affecting estate planning and administration.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the NJ Bar is required; the NY Bar is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in trust and estate law.
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of estate planning techniques and strategies.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the NJ Bar.
  • Admission to the NY Bar (preferred).
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning (preferred).

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
