Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced associate to join its national electric practice in either Seattle, WA, or Washington, D.C. The role involves representing investor-owned utilities, public power utilities, developers, and power marketers. The ideal candidate has over four years of electric regulatory experience and excels in detailed work on regulatory and contract matters.

Duties

  • Represent clients in electric regulatory matters.
  • Draft and interpret contracts and regulatory documents.
  • Engage with state utility commissions and federal courts.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and analysis.
  • Collaborate with a team to achieve client objectives.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of electric regulatory experience.
  • Experience with state or federal regulatory bodies.
  • Proven ability to interpret statutes and regulations.
  • Experience drafting pleadings, testimony, or tariffs is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
