Job Overview:
A distinguished trial-focused law firm is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its high-impact litigation team. This opportunity allows direct collaboration with nationally recognized trial attorneys and offers involvement in significant, high-profile mass tort and toxic tort cases. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and prepared to contribute meaningfully to complex legal matters from day one.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Assist senior trial attorneys with case preparation and litigation strategy

  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

  • Attend and represent clients at court hearings and depositions

  • Participate in expert depositions and complex litigation procedures

  • Manage and contribute to mass tort and toxic tort cases, including steering committee and common benefit work

  • Analyze and interpret complex legal issues related to large-scale tort litigation

Requirements:

  • Up to 5 years of litigation experience

  • Proven experience in mass torts and/or toxic torts (required and non-negotiable)

  • Familiarity with common benefit assignments and steering committee participation (preferred)

  • Ability to handle expert depositions and mass tort litigation tasks independently

  • Strong litigation instincts and courtroom presence

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (specific state bar admission may be required based on firm location)

Skills:

  • Strong research and writing skills

  • Excellent oral advocacy and communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes litigation environment

  • Critical thinking and strategic litigation analysis

  • Capable of managing multiple complex cases simultaneously
