A law firm seeks a midlevel Corporate Associate to join its team in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for an experienced attorney with a strong background in transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and capital markets offerings. The position involves high-level drafting, negotiating, and management responsibilities for clients with complex legal needs.

Duties:

  • Handle mergers and acquisitions (with a focus on private equity) and/or capital markets transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate sophisticated transaction documents.
  • Manage relationships with clients and address their diverse legal needs.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates to ensure efficient task execution and professional growth.
  • Oversee the day-to-day demands of multiple client matters with precision and professionalism.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of corporate law experience at a law firm.
  • Extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets offerings, and related securities work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and transactional workflows effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in handling complex legal matters with minimal supervision.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a top-tier, accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas (or eligible for admission without examination).

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal drafting and negotiating abilities.
  • Effective leadership and mentoring skills for supervising junior associates.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple high-stakes matters simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
