Job Overview:
A well-established litigation firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Trial Attorney to join its growing team in Sandy Springs, Georgia. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to manage a caseload from inception to trial, focusing on civil litigation in the areas of insurance defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, and workers' compensation. Ideal for attorneys with strong courtroom experience and an interest in trial strategy, this position provides the autonomy of case ownership along with collaborative support and resources.

Location:

  • Sandy Springs, Georgia

Duties:

  • Manage full-cycle litigation including case evaluation, strategy development, and trial preparation

  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and case reports

  • Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials

  • Prepare trial binders, pre-trial motions, and jury instructions

  • Represent clients in court and maintain consistent client communication

  • Collaborate with legal support staff while maintaining independent file ownership

  • Comply with legal department guidelines and litigation best practices

Requirements:

  • 2 to 15 years of civil trial litigation experience required

  • Background in insurance defense, personal injury, workers' compensation, or medical malpractice preferred

  • Experience managing cases independently through jury trials

  • Understanding of Georgia civil procedure and discovery rules

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Georgia

  • Member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia

Skills:

  • Jury trial, mediation, and deposition experience

  • Strong written and oral communication abilities

  • Familiarity with electronic case management and document storage systems

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
