Job Overview:
A prominent law firm focused exclusively on representing employers in labor and employment law is seeking to expand its legal team. This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious attorney with 4–10 years of experience, particularly in litigation or employment law. The role involves direct client interaction, independent case management, and representation in a wide variety of labor-related forums. The firm offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for professional development and client-facing work from day one.

Location:

  • Fairlawn, OH

Duties:

  • Represent employer clients in mediation, arbitration, grievance proceedings, collective bargaining, and litigation

  • Engage with state and federal courts, labor unions, and administrative agencies (EEOC, NLRB, SERB, etc.)

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws

  • Draft and negotiate employment agreements, collective bargaining agreements, non-compete and separation agreements

  • Conduct legal research and write memoranda and client advisories

  • Lead or assist in client trainings and webinars on labor/employment topics

  • Review and develop employee handbooks and workplace policies

  • Manage client relationships with a high level of responsiveness and professionalism

Requirements:

  • 4–10 years of legal experience (employment litigation preferred, but other litigation experience considered)

  • Ability to independently manage legal files and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated professionalism and client service orientation

  • Strong communication and analytical skills

  • Comfortable interacting with clients, opposing counsel, court officials, and agencies

  • Capable of working both independently and within a team

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities

  • Clear and concise communication

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Westlaw, and Bloomberg Law
