Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury (PI) Trial Attorney to join its team in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of personal injury experience, including a strong understanding of New York State Labor Law 240, 241(6), 200, and Industrial Code Rules. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a proven track record in handling personal injury trials and negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.

  • Represent clients in court proceedings and take depositions.

  • Draft plaintiff's Summary Judgment Motions and oppose defendants' motions.

  • Handle first-chair personal injury trials to verdict.

  • Provide legal counsel and strategy for personal injury cases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of personal injury experience.

  • At least 10 first-chair personal injury trials to verdict.

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

  • Strong ability to litigate cases effectively and independently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of New York State Labor Law, including Labor Law 240, 241(6), and 200.

  • Proficient in handling personal injury litigation.

  • Strong trial experience with first-chair responsibilities.

  • Excellent negotiation and settlement skills.

  • Ability to take depositions and handle court proceedings.
