Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Northeast Wisconsin is seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in real estate transactions and estate planning. This full-time, on-site position offers a diverse legal practice with the opportunity to work closely with clients on both personal planning and real estate matters. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of relevant experience, possess strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate an ability to independently manage a caseload while collaborating within a supportive legal team. This role includes travel between the firm’s Green Bay and Seymour office locations to serve client needs effectively.

Location:

Duties:

Estate Planning Responsibilities:

  • Consult with clients to identify estate planning goals and needs

  • Draft estate planning documents including:

    • Wills

    • Revocable and irrevocable trusts

    • Powers of attorney

    • Healthcare directives

  • Advise on asset protection, probate avoidance strategies, and beneficiary designations

  • Guide clients through estate administration, probate processes, and trust management

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately on complex legal decisions

Real Estate Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions

  • Draft and negotiate documents such as:

    • Purchase agreements

    • Deeds

    • Leases

    • Easements

    • Closing documents

  • Review and resolve title issues and coordinate closings

  • Ensure compliance with zoning, regulatory, and legal requirements

  • Work closely with title companies, lenders, realtors, and clients throughout transactions

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in estate planning and real estate law

  • Familiarity with probate, trusts, property law, and title insurance

  • Ability to manage cases independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication skills, particularly in sensitive or emotional situations

  • Willingness to work from multiple office locations as needed

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin

  • Active membership with the American Bar Association (preferred)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal drafting and research capabilities

  • Strong organizational and case management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and legal software tools

  • Collaborative approach with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff
