Job Overview

A law firm seeks an energetic and results-oriented attorney for its Overland Park, KS office. The position involves representing lenders and financial institutions in judicial foreclosure actions. The role requires legal reasoning, independent thought, and creative problem-solving in a dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Review real estate titles and draft legal pleadings.
  • Interpret contracts and resolve disputes and issues.
  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Assist with the management of support staff.
  • Make court appearances and travel to surrounding counties as needed.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Iowa or Kansas.
  • Application for Iowa licensure expected within 6 months of hire.
  • Federal licensure expected within 6 months of hire.
  • 2-5 years of general civil court experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of real estate title law and standards preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic documents and general computer literacy.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Iowa or Kansas.

Skills

  • Strong legal reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
