Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced associate to join its Energy Regulatory practice in Charlotte, NC. This role involves representing major utility clients in regulatory proceedings across multiple jurisdictions, providing significant client exposure and trial-type regulatory proceedings experience.

Duties

  • Represent clients in rate cases and regulatory compliance matters.
  • Assist with energy regulatory aspects of transactions.
  • Support natural gas companies in FERC proceedings.
  • Engage in pre-rate case settlement negotiations.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Energy regulatory or civil litigation background desired.
  • Excellent academic credentials and communication skills.
  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Commitment to client service and teamwork.
  • NC bar membership or eligibility within 6 months.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain.
