Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Litigation Attorney for its San Francisco Bay Area office. This hybrid role offers flexibility, direct client interaction, and courtroom experience, focusing on cases that impact California employment law. The position supports professional growth and personal well-being through a balanced in-office and remote work schedule.

Duties

  • Engage in extensive client contact.
  • Conduct substantive witness interviews.
  • Manage discovery processes.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Appear and defend motions in court regularly.
  • Oversee case management.
  • Draft dispositive motions, including demurrers and motions for summary judgment.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • Over 5 years of experience in employment matters, including wage and hour, PAGA, and FLSA.
  • Prior employment litigation experience required.
  • Experience in 1st or 2nd chair trial, mediation, or dispute resolution is advantageous.
  • Experience in the public sector is a plus.

Education

  • Doctor of Law

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California

Skills

  • Strong client interaction and communication skills.
  • Proficient in case management and legal research.
  • Ability to draft and argue motions effectively.

The firms attorneys regularly present workshops to public agency officials in employment law, labor relations and public agency management. The work environment is relatively conservative; however, the firms attorneys generally describe colleagues as supportive and regularly meet outside of the office for lunch and other social activities. Client contact comes very early. Compensation is competitive with other firms of this size.
