Job Overview

A law firm seeks a midlevel associate to join its employment practice in San Francisco. The associate will handle complex employment litigation for employers across various industries, including single-plaintiff claims, wage and hour class actions, and workplace investigations. This role offers significant client interaction and collaboration with partners on strategic matters.

Duties

• Manage all phases of employment litigation in state and federal courts
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
• Take and defend depositions
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
• Collaborate with clients on employment counseling
• Work with partners on complex matters
• Contribute to business development initiatives

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice in California
• 3-5 years of relevant employment litigation experience
• Experience with California employment law
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Excellent oral advocacy and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience at a law firm or in-house legal department preferred
