A law firm in Arlington is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience, primarily in Workers' Compensation. The successful candidate will be responsible for file review, legal analysis, extensive research, drafting legal documents, representing clients in court, and trial preparation. Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills are essential. Duties:

  • Review and analyze claims and causes of action in Workers' Compensation cases.
  • Conduct extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Regularly represent clients in court, mediation, and depositions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Prepare for and attend trials.
  • Some travel may be required.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation; experience in other practice areas is a plus.
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Must be admitted to practice in the State of Virginia; admission in other states is a plus.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage, and work in a team environment.
  • Prompt responsiveness to email and phone inquiries.
  • Excellent client skills and telephone manners.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

 

Certifications:

Must be admitted to practice in the State of Virginia; admission in other states is a plus.
