Job Overview:
A growing immigration law firm in Houston is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in family-based immigration law, with a strong understanding of immigrant visa petitions, consular processing, and other family immigration matters. Fluency in both English and Spanish is strongly preferred. This position offers a collaborative and supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement case strategies for family-based immigration matters.
  • Prepare and file adjustment of status applications, immigrant visa applications, naturalization applications, waivers, VAWA petitions, RFE/NOID responses, and FOIA requests.
  • Research immigration law and procedures to ensure compliance and optimal case strategies.
  • Represent clients during field office interviews and provide guidance throughout the immigration process.
  • Manage client cases and maintain ongoing communication to ensure clients are informed and supported.
  • Collaborate with team members to handle complex immigration issues.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing, with experience in immigration law.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred).
  • 1-2 years of experience in family-based immigration, with knowledge of asylum, removal defense, and business immigration preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of immigrant visa petitions and consular processing.
  • Strong knowledge of family-based petitions, VAWA petitions, adjustment of status issues, and waivers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with clients.
  • Strong organizational, research, and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, with limited supervision, while being a collaborative team member.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Immigration law expertise, particularly family-based immigration.
  • Bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish).
  • Client management and communication.
