Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Agent for its Intellectual Property Practice Group in Irvine, CA. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with diverse clients across various industries, focusing on complex intellectual property matters.

Duties

  • Support the IP Practice in strategic development and procurement of patent portfolios.
  • Draft utility and design patent applications in computer/electronics and mechanical/electromechanical arts.
  • Prosecute patent applications effectively.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in drafting patent applications in specified technical areas.
  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Admission to practice law in California, if an attorney.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with clients.

Education

  • Degree or advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science preferred.
  • Degrees in mechanical engineering or relevant experience considered.

Certifications

  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
