Job Title: Employment Law Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm located in Jacksonville Beach, FL, is actively seeking a dedicated Employment Law Attorney to support its employee-side labor and wage rights practice. The role centers on representing individuals who have faced workplace discrimination, wage violations, and other unlawful employment practices. The attorney will handle matters from intake to resolution, including litigation, administrative proceedings, and settlement negotiations. This position suits someone who thrives in a client-focused environment and has a strong commitment to protecting employee rights.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload involving employment discrimination and wage/hour claims

  • Represent clients in federal and state courts as well as before administrative agencies

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

  • Take and defend depositions, engage in discovery, and prepare cases for trial

  • Negotiate settlements and advise clients on strategy and case development

  • Attend hearings, mediations, and other court-related proceedings

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective case handling and resolution

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment law or at least 2 years of legal experience with a demonstrated interest in employment-related matters

  • Prior exposure to federal court proceedings is strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to handle cases independently from intake through litigation

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines under pressure

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school accredited by the ABA

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar (mandatory)

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and analytical reasoning

  • Clear, persuasive writing and oral advocacy abilities

  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset

  • High level of professionalism in a client-facing role

  • Capable of working independently and within a team setting
