Job Overview

A law firm seeks a senior litigator to join its litigation team in San Francisco, CA. This position offers the chance to engage in significant and complex litigation within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of litigation defense experience, with expertise in case strategy, managing litigation in state and federal courts, and handling cases through all phases, including discovery, motion practice, and trial.

Duties

  • Practice and oversee all aspects of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Lead trial efforts, including examining witnesses and presenting cases to judges and juries.
  • Manage complex litigation cases involving constitutional and statutory law, and class actions.
  • Represent clients in court and administrative hearings.
  • Provide direct client counsel, handling investigations and strategic planning.
  • Work on high-stakes labor and employment law cases.
  • Manage and collaborate with associates and legal staff.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing and trying complex litigation cases in state and federal court.
  • Ability to develop and coordinate discovery in complex actions.
  • Expertise in labor and employment law, public sector law, or government-related litigation is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and client relationship skills.
  • Commitment to serving the public sector or public interest legal practice.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and mentor junior team members.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Member in good standing of the California State Bar.
