Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Workers' Compensation Associate to join their team in Iselin, NJ. The role involves working within the NY Workers' Compensation Group, providing legal expertise and support in various cases.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases.
  • Maintain billable hours as necessary.
  • Manage client relationships and a caseload with supervision.
  • Assist in the representation of clients in motion practice, conferences, mediations, and trial when necessary.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of Workers' Compensation experience required; 2-3 years preferred.
  • Must have a JD degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Maintain an active license in good standing in both New Jersey and New York.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.
  • Must be a self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

Education

  • JD degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

  • Active license in good standing in both New Jersey and New York.
