Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced attorney with 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in Albany, NY. This role offers hybrid flexibility, allowing for both in-office and remote work based on business needs. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to creditor's rights, restructuring, and bankruptcy law.

Duties

  • Represent financial institutions and commercial lenders in complex loan workouts and restructurings.
  • Draft and review loan documents, including credit and security agreements.
  • Advise clients on legal strategies and risks in debtor-creditor relationships.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop cost-effective legal strategies.
  • Represent clients in state and federal courts for foreclosure and collection actions.
  • Prepare pleadings, discovery, and motions in bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Advocate in bankruptcy court, including adversary proceedings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and mentor junior attorneys.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in creditor's rights, restructuring, and bankruptcy law.
  • Experience representing financial institutions in commercial loan workouts and litigation.
  • Preferred experience in commercial debt collection and post-judgment enforcement.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and work independently.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York Bar.
