Job Overview:

A Jersey City-based general practice law firm with a focus on civil and business litigation is actively seeking a full-time Associate Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney with 1–2 years of legal experience to gain immediate exposure to courtroom appearances, legal drafting, depositions, discovery, and client interaction. The position offers a fully remote work environment while allowing the selected candidate to work closely with the firm’s managing attorney and rapidly develop litigation skills early in their career.

Location:

  • Jersey City, NJ

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, legal briefs, and motions across a variety of subject matters

  • Support lead attorney in deposition and trial preparation

  • Attend court conferences and mediations

  • Conduct legal research using LexisNexis

  • Assist clients in responding to and drafting discovery

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

Requirements:

  • 1–2 years of experience in a law firm setting and/or judicial clerkship

  • Strong academic credentials (GPA of 3.0 or higher)

  • Demonstrated ability to handle legal research and writing projects independently

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a remote environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • New Jersey Bar admission required

  • New York Bar admission is a plus, but not required

Skills:

  • Proficiency with legal research tools (LexisNexis)

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Familiarity with Adobe PDF software

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities

  • High level of organization and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
