Job Overview: A reputable Pittsburgh-based litigation firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its growing medical malpractice defense team. This role is ideal for a motivated legal professional with 2–4 years of litigation experience who is looking to specialize in defending healthcare providers, including physicians, hospitals, and nursing facilities, in complex medical malpractice cases. The firm offers strong mentorship, trial exposure, and a supportive team environment to help develop top-tier litigators.
Location:

Duties:
Draft and respond to written discovery
Conduct detailed reviews of medical records
Draft legal correspondence, case updates, and client reports
Prepare and argue motions and preliminary objections
Attend and participate in depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and expert witnesses
Assist senior attorneys in trial preparation and attend trials
Collaborate with legal team on strategy development and case progression
Requirements:
2–4 years of civil litigation experience
Strong interest in medical malpractice defense litigation
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Eagerness to grow professionally and develop trial skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage case documents
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active Pennsylvania Bar license (required)
Skills:
Strong legal research and analytical capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with reviewing complex medical records
Ability to analyze case facts and anticipate litigation needs
