Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Transactional Regulatory Associate in Houston, TX. The role involves supporting a diverse range of transactional and regulatory matters for clients in the energy sector, including utilities, renewable developers, and investors.

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate project contracts.
  • Conduct due diligence for energy transactions.
  • Prepare and support regulatory filings and compliance.
  • Advise on power purchase and interconnection agreements.
  • Assist with project finance and M&A transactions.

Requirements

  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and client communication skills.
  • Prior Am Law 100 law firm experience preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly in the jurisdiction of the resident office location.

Skills

  • Contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issues.
