Job Overview:

A prominent law firm is seeking qualified law school graduates and judicial clerks for associate positions across its U.S. offices. Lateral candidates with commercial litigation experience are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and overseeing document review. While in-court experience is preferred, it is not required. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic litigation practice.

Location:

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties:

  • Manage discovery processes, including document review and production.
  • Take and defend depositions in commercial litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including legal research and strategy development.
  • Participate in hearings, motions, and case management conferences.
  • Provide support throughout all stages of litigation, from pre-trial to post-trial.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies and arguments.

Requirements:

  • Experience in commercial litigation, including discovery, depositions, and document review.
  • In-court experience is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional academic credentials.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bar admission in the jurisdiction of interest or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the jurisdiction of interest (or eligibility to obtain admission promptly).

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong experience with discovery and document review processes.
  • Proficiency in taking and defending depositions.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • In-court experience is a plus.
