Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate with 2-5 years of experience to join the Post-Grant Proceedings group in Washington, D.C. The role involves engaging in complex legal processes and collaborating with a dynamic team to support patent-related matters.

Duties

  • Conduct invalidity analysis of patents and prior art.
  • Draft IPR/PGR petitions and legal and technical arguments.
  • Collaborate with experts and prepare expert testimony.
  • Conduct and defend expert depositions.
  • Engage in oral advocacy before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Requirements

  • Experience in patent litigation before the PTAB or USPTO.
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO is preferred.
  • Graduated with a JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings.

Education

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice before the USPTO preferred.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
