Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a dedicated Attorney to join its team in Lexington, SC. This full-time, on-site role will primarily involve representing clients in injury and criminal defense matters, providing legal advice, conducting legal research, preparing documents, and handling court appearances. The role offers an opportunity for both experienced attorneys and recent law school graduates to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the success of the firm.

Location:

  • Lexington, SC

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation and advice to clients in injury and criminal defense cases.

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trial and hearings.

  • Perform legal research and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.

  • Communicate regularly with clients, keeping them informed about case status and explaining legal concepts and procedures.

  • Engage in negotiations on behalf of clients with opposing parties or counsel.

  • Adhere to all relevant legal standards and practices during case preparation and representation.

  • Handle one or more court appearances per day, as required.

Requirements:

  • SC Bar membership (Required).

  • Completion of all 403 trial observation requirements.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.

  • Strong research and analytical skills.

  • Experience in injury or criminal defense matters is a plus but not required.

  • Willingness to handle court appearances regularly.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • South Carolina Bar License (Required).

Skills:

  • Legal research and document preparation.

  • Courtroom presence and trial experience.

  • Client communication and case management.

  • Negotiation skills.
