Surety and Construction Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate with over three years of experience to join its Fidelity Surety and Coverage team. This position supports the surety and construction team based in Collin County, TX. The role involves litigation in state and federal courts, counseling, dispute resolution, and contract drafting and negotiation. This is a fully remote position with some travel required.

Duties

• Assist in litigation processes in state and federal courts.
• Provide counseling and dispute resolution services.
• Draft and negotiate construction contracts and related documents.
• Collaborate with attorneys, team members, consultants, and clients.

Requirements

• Active Texas license or UBE eligibility.
• Experience with construction disputes and mechanics' liens preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Superb written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent academic credentials.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active Texas Bar license or UBE eligibility.

Skills

• Strong legal and practical knowledge of the construction industry.
• Proficiency in contract drafting and negotiation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
