Mid-level Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A leading litigation firm specializing in Lemon Law and consumer protection is looking for a mid-level Associate Attorney to join its Walnut Creek office. The role offers a dynamic opportunity to represent consumers against car manufacturers and dealers, focusing on aggressive discovery, depositions, and trial preparation. Location:

• Walnut Creek, CA

Duties:

• Written Discovery:

  • Draft written discovery and review responses.
  • Participate in e-discovery document review.

• Law & Motion Work:

  • Draft motions related to discovery disputes and pleadings.
  • Prepare oppositions to motions for summary adjudication and other related motions.
  • Participate in oral arguments concerning discovery disputes, summary judgment motions, and ex parte requests.

• Depositions:

  • Prepare clients and defend consumer depositions.
  • Depose percipient witnesses and corporate representatives.
  • Prepare expert witnesses and attend expert depositions.

• Vehicle Inspections:

  • Attend vehicle inspections with expert witnesses.

• Other Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely reporting and billing for hours worked.
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned by partners.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience as a California-licensed attorney.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and caseloads.
• Willingness to travel within California for court appearances, vehicle inspections, and depositions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing of the California Bar.

Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, Westlaw, and Outlook.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required).
• Skilled in problem-solving and navigating complex legal issues.
• Ability to adapt to a paperless work environment and learn new technology tools.
