Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Salem, NH, is actively seeking a Litigation Associate to join its high-volume creditors' rights practice. This position provides immediate courtroom experience and hands-on litigation responsibility across a broad range of matters, from pre-suit investigation to post-judgment enforcement. The role is ideal for newly licensed attorneys eager to build litigation skills while working in a fast-paced, supportive legal environment. The associate will handle case preparation, court appearances, and client communications with autonomy and professionalism.

Duties:

  • Conduct a thorough legal review of account documents and case pleadings in alignment with a structured weekly production plan

  • Draft, revise, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and memoranda

  • Represent clients at hearings and proceedings in courts across New Hampshire, including participation in virtual appearances

  • Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel and self-represented parties to resolve disputes amicably

  • Perform legal research and prepare concise opinions under the guidance of senior litigation staff

  • Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in case management systems based on internal protocols and client expectations

  • Participate in continuing legal education opportunities to stay current on procedural rules and evolving case law

  • Foster clear and timely communication with firm clients to ensure alignment and case progression

  • Carry out additional assignments and responsibilities as determined by firm leadership

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in New Hampshire

  • 0-3 years of post-bar legal experience, preferably in litigation or collections

  • Strong written and verbal advocacy skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload with attention to quality and deadlines

  • Willingness to travel to courts across New Hampshire

  • Ability to operate effectively in both remote and in-person work settings

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing with the New Hampshire Bar Association

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis
