Job Overview
A law firm in San Francisco, California, is seeking an Employment Associate to join its labor and employment practice. This role involves handling both litigation and advisory matters, including class actions and individual employment disputes. The position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of employment issues while advising clients on compliance, risk management, and workplace policies in a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Manage employment litigation matters, including class actions and single plaintiff cases
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
  • Handle matters involving wage and hour claims, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination
  • Defend class and collective actions, including PAGA claims
  • Advise clients on employment law compliance and workplace policies
  • Draft and negotiate employment agreements, termination, and severance agreements
  • Guide on reductions in force, compensation practices, and employee policies
  • Represent clients before state and federal courts and administrative agencies
  • Collaborate with team members on litigation strategy and client counseling

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in labor and employment law
  • Experience in both litigation and advisory work preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and California employment laws, including wage and hour regulations
  • Experience handling class or collective actions preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and work independently

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the California State Bar
