A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to provide legal counsel and representation in matters related to local government, regulatory compliance, and administrative litigation. Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents.

  • Represent clients before state regulatory agencies and local government entities.

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on matters related to public utilities, emergency services, and government administration.

  • Attend client meetings, including those held in the evenings as required.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and legal solutions.

  • Monitor legislative developments and provide lobbying support as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-7 years of experience as a practicing attorney (preferred).

  • Strong legal research and document drafting abilities.

  • Ability to handle administrative litigation and regulatory matters.

  • Willingness to attend evening client meetings when necessary.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and legal research tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Experience in administrative and local government law (preferred, but not required).
