Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its Commercial Real Estate Practice Group in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have four or more years of experience in commercial real estate, although this is not a strict requirement. The role involves representing clients in various real estate transactions and developments.

Duties

  • Represent clients in commercial real estate acquisitions, sales, and development.
  • Handle commercial leases, subleases, easements, declarations, and title matters.
  • Negotiate commercial loan terms and documents.
  • Advise on condemnation, rezoning, and land use issues.
  • Provide guidance on 1031 exchange, opportunity zone, and tax matters.
  • Draft joint venture documents and similar agreements.

Requirements

  • 4-10+ years of commercial real estate experience preferred.
  • Strong residential real estate experience, including title review, is considered.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Licensure in South Carolina is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
