Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A New York City-based law firm is seeking a motivated and experienced litigation attorney to support its growing caseload in transportation, trucking, and general insurance defense matters. This remote-capable role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact cases for nationally recognized clients across various liability sectors. Ideal candidates will possess at least four years of relevant litigation experience and be admitted to the New York Bar. The position offers a collaborative work culture with the support of a well-established, multi-office firm known for combining large-scale capabilities with nimble client service.

Duties:

• Handle active litigation cases related to trucking, transportation, and general liability defense

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documentation

• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations

• Engage in legal research and analysis for case preparation

• Advise clients on legal risks and strategic approaches

• Negotiate settlements and manage pre-trial preparation

• Maintain ongoing communication with clients and prepare timely case status reports

• Ensure adherence to state and federal litigation procedures and regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of civil litigation experience

• At least 2 years of handling trucking and transportation liability cases

• 2+ years of New York state litigation practice

• Proven experience with insurance defense matters

• Capacity to manage a remote workload efficiently

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the New York State Bar (Mandatory)
