Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Personal Injury Associate Attorney in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will work directly on cases, collaborating with attorneys, meeting clients, taking depositions, and preparing for trial. This role offers the opportunity to manage a docket and advocate passionately for clients.

Duties

  • Work closely with attorneys to implement case strategies.
  • Conduct case workups, including client interviews and evidence collection.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Take and defend depositions; negotiate settlements.
  • Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial.
  • Maintain regular client communication.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • 2-3+ years of legal experience (personal injury or civil litigation preferred).
  • Trial experience highly valued (but not required).
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Passion for client advocacy and a desire to grow as a trial lawyer.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong technological aptitude and adaptability, including comfort with AI tools.

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
