Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Immigration Attorney in Chicago, IL. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on clients' lives through dedicated legal representation. Duties

  • Represent clients before the EOIR in removal defense matters.
  • Handle family-based immigration, asylum, U Visa applications, naturalization, and adjustment of status proceedings.
  • Provide guidance and review for work prepared by Legal Assistants and Paralegals.
  • Manage a high-volume workload with support from managing attorneys and paralegal team.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Immigration Law experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois or any other U.S. state and in good standing.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, both speaking and writing.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Live within commuting distance to Chicago Loop.
  • May require some pre-scheduled Saturday work (9a-1p).
  • May require some travel for in-person hearings.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • License to practice law in the U.S.

Skills

  • Experience with federal immigration litigation, particularly habeas and mandamus cases.
  • Proficiency in INSZoom, 3CX, and MS Office Suite.
