Job Title: Energy, Environmental, And Infrastructure Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A distinguished law firm located in Boulder, CO, is seeking a skilled associate attorney with 3-7 years of experience to join its dynamic Energy, Environmental, and Infrastructure practice. This opportunity offers exposure to high-level transactional work across the energy and natural resources sectors, including renewable energy, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects. Duties:

  • Handle complex transactions related to energy and natural resources, including mergers, acquisitions, project development, and commercial agreements.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate documents for renewable energy projects, such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts, shared facilities agreements, and procurement contracts.

  • Provide legal support for the structuring and negotiation of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements.

  • Assist with project financing and investment structuring within the energy and infrastructure sectors.

  • Advise clients on transactions related to oil and gas, with the ability to pivot between traditional and renewable energy sectors.

  • Manage multiple active matters simultaneously while maintaining a high level of service and responsiveness.

  • Collaborate closely with partners and clients, demonstrating strong project management and leadership skills.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years and up to 7 years of post-JD legal experience.

  • Background in transactional energy and natural resources work gained in a sophisticated legal practice setting.

  • Familiarity with renewable energy sector agreements and project development.

  • Exposure to EPC agreements and project finance transactions is highly desirable.

  • Experience within the oil and gas sector is an advantage.

  • Strong commitment to client service and professional excellence.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.

  • Ability to obtain admission in Colorado, if not already admitted, is preferred.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and drafting abilities.

  • Effective negotiation skills with a practical, solutions-oriented approach.

  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage deadlines, and operate independently when needed.
