Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in Miami, FL is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in civil litigation and debt collection, with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in both negotiation and courtroom settings. This is an excellent position for a newly licensed attorney or someone awaiting bar results who is eager to work in a fast-paced legal environment.

Duties:

  • Manage a high-volume caseload, ensuring all files are up-to-date and organized.
  • Review and draft court pleadings, including motions and other legal documents.
  • Communicate directly with courts, clients, and opposing counsel to manage case information.
  • Represent clients in court, both physically and virtually, with regular appearances.
  • Negotiate settlements with defendants or their legal representatives.
  • Maintain and update case management software with relevant legal documents and case statuses.
  • Collaborate with legal clerks and other team members to effectively handle cases.
  • Work autonomously with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

Requirements:

  • Active Bar membership in the state of Florida (Georgia bar certification is a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a significant caseload and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to represent clients effectively in litigation.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment and coordinating with a legal team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar certification in Florida (active and in good standing).

Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Quick learner with a proactive attitude to understanding legal processes.
