Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Knoxville, TN office. The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice law in Tennessee and be in good standing. While not mandatory, prior experience in general civil defense matters and/or workers' compensation defense litigation is preferred.

Duties

• Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions, with attention to detail.
• Assist in litigation preparation and support attorneys in court proceedings.
• Utilize knowledge of Workers' Compensation law to provide legal assistance.
• Collaborate with team members on case strategies and client representation.
• Demonstrate strong writing skills in correspondence and legal documentation.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in Tennessee and in good standing.
• Prior litigation experience in civil defense or workers' compensation preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Tennessee Bar License.
