Yellowknife office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a corporate commercial securities lawyer with 3+ years experience in a corporate/commercial practice or in-house role. The candidate will be providing advice in all areas for private corporations, joint ventures, and partnerships of all types and sizes in a variety of areas including Incorporation, Amalgamations, Reorganizations, Sales of assets and shares, Financing, and Winding-up proceedings. Drafting shareholder and partnership agreements. Purchases and sales of commercial and residential real estate. Providing advice to municipal councils. Working with commercial landlords and tenants. Providing security opinions. Must be a member in good standing of a Canadian law society, and eligible for admission to the Law Society of Northwest Territories and the Law Society of Nunavut. Must have demonstrated corporate/commercial law experience.
The candidate must be highly motivated, self-directed, and able to juggle multiple priorities efficiently. Demonstrates the ability to work well independently with confidence under time constraints. Must be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the rest of our office, and with our colleagues in other offices. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to work in cross-cultural environments. Brings exceptional ethics and integrity to the role. Maintains professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion at all times. Articulates legal information clearly and practically to clients. Possesses strong legal research skills and computer literacy. Must be able and willing to travel to and work in communities throughout Northern Canada.
