Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Omaha, NE, is seeking a seasoned Partner to join their dynamic Insurance Defense Litigation practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in handling insurance defense matters, including reinsurance, regulatory issues, and professional liability cases. The role demands a strong track record of managing complex, high-volume cases from inception to trial and appeals, coupled with exceptional trial and client management skills.

Duties:

• Manage and oversee a high-volume caseload of insurance defense litigation, focusing on reinsurance, regulatory matters, and professional liability.

• Independently handle cases from inception through trial and appeals, with some supervision as necessary.

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and other legal documents pertinent to insurance defense matters.

• Conduct depositions, attend court appearances, handle motion practices, and manage expert retention.

• Develop litigation strategies both internally and with clients, ensuring alignment with client objectives.

• Analyze complex insurance policies, providing detailed coverage opinions for clients.

• Perform in-depth legal research to support insurance defense cases, including topics on reinsurance and regulatory issues.

• Maintain strong, professional client relationships and provide exceptional service throughout litigation.

• Ensure timely and accurate billing of hours, while managing the demands of complex litigation.

• Mentor junior associates, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, including specialized fields like reinsurance and professional liability.

• Proven trial experience, including at least 10 jury verdicts in insurance defense and related matters.

• Expertise in managing complex insurance defense cases, particularly for high-volume clients.

• Skilled in settlement negotiations, arbitration, and mediation.

• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail in insurance defense matters.

• Ability to handle multifaceted legal issues and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• Active membership in the Nebraska State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska.

• Admission to additional states such as Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri is a plus.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Nebraska (or other states as applicable).
