Litigation Associate

Job Overview:
A fast-growing multidisciplinary law firm based in New York is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its collaborative legal team. Location:

• Melville, NY

Duties:

• Conduct legal research using platforms such as Lexis-Nexis

• Draft legal pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents

• Participate in case strategy discussions with senior attorneys

• Maintain organized and up-to-date case files

• Communicate with clients to provide case updates and gather necessary information

• Assist in negotiations and settlements

• Handle a range of litigation matters including insurance defense (motor vehicle, premises liability, construction/labor law) and commercial disputes

Requirements:

• Prior litigation experience preferred (level of responsibility commensurate with experience)

• Willingness to appear in courts across city and suburban venues (NYC boroughs, Westchester, Long Island)

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative environment

• Demonstrated interest in both insurance defense and commercial litigation

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the State of New York (active and in good standing)

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical skills

• Excellent written and oral communication abilities
