Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A growing litigation firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join its team in St. Louis, Missouri. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an associate attorney with a minimum of two years of experience in commercial litigation to handle a diverse caseload while working independently and collaboratively with senior attorneys. Location:

Duties:

• Manage cases throughout all phases of litigation, both independently and as part of a team.
• Conduct thorough fact investigations.
• Handle document productions and manage other discovery tasks.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and other legal documents.
• Review and analyze contracts, policies, and legal documents.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, including oral arguments on motions.
• Support trial preparation and attend trials, including assisting with direct and cross-examination of witnesses.

Requirements:

• At least two years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois.
• Licensure in Kansas and Arkansas is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently and work well within a team.
• Proficiency in handling all phases of litigation, including trial preparation and depositions.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois (required).
• Licensure in Kansas and Arkansas is a plus.

Skills:

• Strong litigation experience, particularly in commercial cases.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in drafting legal documents such as motions, briefs, and pleadings.
• Experience in taking and defending depositions.
• Trial preparation and courtroom experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, witnesses, and colleagues.
