Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Estate Planning Associate Attorney in Savannah, Georgia. This full-time position involves managing a diverse caseload in probate, estate planning, wills, and trusts. The role requires collaboration with clients to design strategic estate plans and mentorship of junior legal staff.

Duties

  • Lead probate litigation and non-litigated cases from initial consultation through resolution.
  • Handle estate administration, trust and will creation, and guardianship proceedings.
  • Review legal documents related to wills, trusts, and estate planning.
  • Provide high-level legal counsel and representation to a diverse client base.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external partners to ensure excellence in case management.
  • Mentor and supervise support staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice in Georgia and in good standing with the State Bar.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in estate planning, specifically will and trust creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and compassion.
  • Strong writing, negotiation, and courtroom skills.
  • Deep understanding of Georgia probate code and court procedures.
  • Experience working with or in a probate court and creation of wills and trusts.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with modern legal tools and cloud-based systems.
  • Calm, collaborative, and solutions-oriented in high-pressure situations.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia.
