Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Chicago, IL, to join their team specializing in catastrophic tort litigation. This position offers a hybrid work environment with opportunities for hands-on courtroom experience and involvement in all phases of litigation.

Duties

  • Defend clients in catastrophic tort cases.
  • Conduct fact and expert discovery, including depositions.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and trial materials.
  • Participate in trial preparation, including jury instructions and witness preparation.
  • Collaborate with experienced trial attorneys on high-exposure cases.

Requirements

  • J.D. and admission to the Illinois Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of tort litigation experience, with a preference for catastrophic loss cases.
  • Strong skills in depositions, motions, and courtroom proceedings.
  • Trial experience is advantageous.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Illinois Bar.
