Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced litigation attorney for a remote position, preferably based in the Orlando or Jacksonville, Florida area. The role involves defending insurance claims, including general liability, premises liability, and commercial automobile claims, with a focus on proactive case management and trial experience.

Duties

• Manage cases from inception through trial, including pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Appear in person for court hearings, depositions, and site inspections as necessary.
• Collaborate with case teams and participate in weekly virtual meetings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel.
• Consistently enter billable time entries daily.

Requirements

• JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• License to practice law in Florida.
• Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience in insurance defense.
• Willingness to travel for necessary court appearances and other legal proceedings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education

• Doctor of Law (JD)

Certifications

• Valid Bar license in Florida
