Employment Law Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a career-minded associate-level attorney to join their employment practice group in Boston, MA. The role involves handling a variety of employment law issues, including litigation and advisory work, to support employer clients with day-to-day legal guidance.

Duties

• Perform research into a variety of employment matters.
• Draft and revise employer handbooks and policies.
• Communicate directly with clients to provide legal advice.
• Draft position statements and responses to administrative charges.
• Draft motions in federal and state court.
• Respond to discovery requests.
• Draft deposition outlines, prepare exhibits, and prepare witnesses.
• Conduct and/or defend depositions, where appropriate.
• Assist partners in preparing for mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Second chair and, where appropriate, first chair mediations and trials.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active MA bar admission or ability to obtain admission quickly; admission to other regional bars is a plus.
• 1-4+ years of litigation or employment counseling experience.
• Outstanding research, writing, and analytic skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
• Ability to multitask and work independently within a collaborative team setting.
