Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Attorney to lead its immigration practice. This role involves managing complex immigration cases, including family-based petitions, deportation defense, and business immigration matters. The Senior Associate Attorney will also provide mentorship to junior attorneys and play a pivotal role in the firm's growth. Location:

Duties:

  • Lead and manage complex immigration litigation processes, including immigrant visa petitions, asylum cases, waivers, and consular processing.
  • Represent clients in immigration court and provide legal advice on deportation defense, asylum, and visa-related issues.
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, petitions, waivers, and responses to requests for evidence.
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys, providing guidance on case strategies and legal processes.
  • Analyze legal issues, develop innovative solutions, and ensure ethical legal practices.
  • Collaborate with clients and prepare them for court appearances and USCIS appointments.
  • Conduct legal research and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality in handling sensitive client and firm information.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Proven experience in handling complex immigration cases, including family-based petitions, deportation defense, and business immigration.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (Required).
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, including visas, waivers, asylum, and deportation defense.
  • Excellent research and case management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and MacOS systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a commitment to exceptional client service.
