A law firm seeks a Bilingual Associate Attorney in Houston, TX. The role involves working on various immigration applications and supervising non-attorney team members. Duties

  • Identify types of immigration relief for clients.
  • Strategize advocacy for clients and resolve immigration questions.
  • Provide leadership and training to non-attorney team members.
  • Audit work product from non-attorney team members.
  • Monitor and enforce ethical obligations for non-attorney team members.
  • Answer legal questions from legal support teams.
  • Review and edit USCIS applications and supporting materials.
  • Stay informed about legislative and case law changes.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active member in good standing of a state bar.
  • 3+ years of experience in an immigration law firm.
  • Experience with humanitarian and family-based visas preferred.
  • Advocacy-focused approach to client representation.
  • Innovative approach to operations and processes.
  • Strong communication skills with clients.

Education

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing of a state bar.
