Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its securities litigation team. This role provides an exciting opportunity for a litigation attorney to further develop skills in a professional, driven, and collegial environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and excels in legal writing, problem-solving, and oral advocacy.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Conduct factual research for case investigations and draft amended complaints.

  • Draft legal memoranda in opposition to motions to dismiss and summary judgment, and in support of class certification and summary judgment.

  • Create and respond to discovery requests, including document requests, interrogatories, requests to admit, and deposition notices.

  • Engage in discovery negotiations with opposing and third-party counsel, draft discovery correspondence, and motions to compel.

  • Review documents produced by parties and third parties for case support, depositions, and trial.

  • Prepare for and participate in depositions as both second chair and, when ready, first chair.

  • Work with experts, including economists and industry specialists, during discovery.

  • Prepare for mediations, including drafting mediation briefs and presentations.

  • Assist in drafting settlement approval documents.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in securities litigation (Class of 2020 or earlier).

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with appropriate guidance and mentoring.

  • Ability to collaborate with legal professionals at all levels.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Expertise in legal research and drafting.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in case strategy development.

  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

  • Familiarity with securities laws and litigation procedures.
