Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Labor Law attorney in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in defense litigation, including at least 2 years handling New York State Labor Law claims, and exposure to insurance coverage disputes. Duties

  • Manage an assigned litigation caseload independently and with supervision.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and other litigation-related filings.
  • Handle depositions, court appearances, and motion practice.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis.
  • Represent clients in insurance defense and New York Labor Law matters.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness and adherence to guidelines.
  • Manage deadlines and ensure all procedural and court requirements are met.
  • Accurately record and maintain billable hours.

Requirements

  • Admission to practice in the State of New York is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in defense litigation.
  • At least 2 years of experience handling New York State Labor Law litigation.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Federal Court experience is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills
